Warranty Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026.
1. Manufacturer warranty (the AC unit itself)
Every split system we sell is genuine, brand-new Panasonic stock, covered by Panasonic's standard Australian manufacturer warranty. Buying at trade pricing through Coastal Electric does not affect this cover. We recommend registering your AC unit with Panasonic after delivery (or after installation, if you've added an Installation Package) to simplify any future claim.
Coastal Electric is an independent reseller, not Panasonic — warranty claims on the AC unit itself are ultimately assessed and honoured by Panasonic under their own terms. We're glad to help you get in touch with them if needed.
2. Installation workmanship warranty
If you've added an Installation Package, the installation work itself (not the AC unit) is covered by a workmanship warranty of 5 years from the date of completion, covering defects in the installation work performed by our licensed technician. This doesn't cover faults in the AC unit itself (see section 1), damage from misuse, or modifications made after installation by someone else.
3. Consumer guarantees
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, including the right to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You're also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure doesn't amount to a major failure.
4. Making a claim
Contact us on 1300 267 156 or connect@coastalelectric.com.au with your order details and a description of the issue. For AC unit faults, we'll help coordinate with Panasonic; for installation workmanship issues, we'll arrange for a licensed technician to assess and rectify the work.
